There is a self-reinforcing cycle of music that is successful inspiring the production of music as similar as possible, and then streaming sites suggest it to everybody, consequently ensuring that it is successful, and so on. The music that gets shoved down everyone’s throats is all of the same type. The way around it is to actively seek out different types. I recommend Mongolian folk metal, Ukrainian symphonic metal, and Hildegard von Blingin’s bardcore versions of hits old and new. If that doesn’t work for you, try something else. Once you find a source of music that you don’t find boring, the algorithms will start working for you instead of against you and will show you more stuff that you do like.
